Dear Mr. Reed:
Enclosed is a copy of the recently revised Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) for the Callaway Plant.
The latest revisions to the RERP include the correction of typographical errors and minor editorial clarifications; title changes and organizational modifications within the onsite organization; reference to the radioactive release information system (RRIS),
which will provide real-time predictions of atmospheric transport and diffusion estimates of radioactive releases; and, the following changes related to offsite emergency planning: (i) a more detailed description of Applicant's interface with offsite government agencies, including the NRC, SEMA and local governments (S 5.4);
(ii) a description of the division of responsibility for the siren system, with Applicant responsible for providing and main-taining the system, and local government responsible for activating it (S 6.4.1.2); (iii) Applicant's potassium iodide (KI) policy for its onsite workers (S 6.4.2.3); (iv) a detailed description of the offsite emergency response facilities, including the change in location of the news media center and briefing roo'm (S 7.1); (v) inclusion of the primary and secondary evacuation routes from the site to the EOF (Figure 6.1); (vi) additional letters of agreement (Appendix C) ; and, (vii) replacement of the preliminary evacuation time study with the final evacuation time study (Appendix I).
