Dear Mr. Murley:
We understand that the NRC staff is in the process of developing revised schedules for the review of the System 80+" Standard Nuclear Power Plant Design, as well as for other designs, for presentation to the Coutmission.
Comburtion Engineering has already agreed to participate in the NRC/ industry meeting currently scheduled for May 14 to discusa this issue.
As I have discussed with you previously, I believe it would s be useful for the Staff and Combustion Engineering to meet and further discuss the conduct of the System 80+ review prior to finalizing your recommendations. We, therefore, _
propose a series of meetings with NRC project management to identify critical path issues and to explore areas for schedule improvement. We are prepared to meet with you at your earliest convenience to begin these dialogues.
