Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
The Commission's letter dated December 22, 1980, concerning NUREG-0612, " Control of Heavy Loads at Nuclear Power Plants", requested the District submit a response to Sections 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 of Enclosure 3 by September 22, 1981. The District hereby requests an extension of the submittal date for Sections 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 to December 22, 1981. The extension is deemed necessary as the task of thoroughly evaluating and analyzing the Fort Calhoun Station's heavy load handling system is requiring a substantially greater effort than anticipated. It should also be noted that the preliminary analysis in response to Section 2.1 was a prerequisite to the Sections 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 analyses and there-fore precluded start;ing these analyses until recently. The heavy load Landling system analysis cannot be completed by the September 22, 1981 dealine, thus requiring an extension of the report submittal date.
