5. Control Room Habitability Report, Rev.1, dated January 19, 1980, Prepared by Combustion Engineering Gentleme.:

SUBJECT:

NUREG-0737, Item III.D.3.4, " Control Room Habitability Requirements" Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) submits the enclosed report (as committed to in Reference 3) summarizing control room habitability for the Fort Calhoun Station. The report demonstrates that control room operating personnel are adequately protected in the event of an accidental release of radionuclides and that the plant can be safely shutdown under design basis accident conditions.

In addition, the report demonstrates compliance.with applicable requirements, including Standard Review Plan 6.4, and provides the basis for that conclusion.

Please note the enclosed report only briefly discusses toxic gas events as they relate to operation of the control room ventilation system. OPPD's toxic gas event evaluation (Reference 5), previously submitted, was not affected by the recent modifications and therefore does not require revision at this time.
