Your letter of January 28, 1980 regarding storage of tae reactor cavity annular seal plate daring reactor operation, indicati <l your intention to relocate the seal plate from a position above the re.:: tor cavity to a storage area where it will not be exposed to diffe ertial pressures generated within the reactor cavity following o ostulated LOCA.

We have s

verified the relocation of the seal with our P.esident Inspector. The issue is therefore considered to be closed. provided the seal plate is not returned to a position above the reactor cavity during power operation.

Should you desire to perform modific. cions at a later date that will permit storage of the seal in an area above the reactor, the information requested in the above reference letter should be provided to us.
