We have completed our review of your response dated September 26,1979 to our letter of July 18, 1979, in regard to the potential for the reactor cavity annulus seal ring to become a destructive missile in the event of a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) pipe break inside the reactor cavity.
Your response, stating that the seal ring will not be installed during future operations except during refueling, acceptably resolves this issue for Maine Yankee.
