Buchanan V 10 TERA Your letter of September 21, 1979, in response to our 10 CFR.50.54(f) letter of July 18, 1979, did not provide the required responses to our concerns about the potential for the reactor cavity annulus seal ring to become a destructive missile in the'event of a loss-of-coolant accident pipe break inside the reactor cavity.

In your response you should submit the analyses, in sufficient detail, to deAonstrate that the seal ring cannot become a destructive missile not only in)regqard to the containment but to othe r components, systems or structuires needed for the protection'of the health and safety of the public fn the event of the aforementioned LOCA.

Kindly provide the nmformation within 30 days-of receipt of this letter with three signed originals and 37 additional copies.
