Dear Mr. Keppler:

Clinton Power Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-461 and 50-462 Construction Permit Nos. CPPR-137 & CPPR-138 This is in reply to your letter of November 8, 1979, whereby you forwarded Revision No. 2 to IE Bulletin No. 79-02. Our response to action items 1 through 4 of revision No. 1 was transmitted to you on July 5, 1979, by our letter U-0098, L08-79(07-05)-9. That re-sponse still applies to items 1 through 4, with the following clari-fications.

Item 2. Our procedure for installing wedge type anchers was approved approximately 2 weeks ago. We have not yet used con-crete anchors to support any category 1 piping.

Item 4. Our inspection criteria and procedure ara in force.

Any data resulting from their use will be availsole for inspection on the CPS site.

Item 5. Until anchors and procedures are approved, none will be used in concrete blocks. Testing is in progress toward the goal of qualifying specific expansion anchor bolts for use at CPS. When these are completed, we will report to you the results and our plans for using them.
