The Craha Public Pcwer District received a letter frca the Cermission, dated August 23, 1978, which provided Amendment No. 40 to Facility Operating License No. OPE-LO for the Fort Calhoun Station.
This amendment added a license condition relating to the cc=pletion cf facility modificatiens for fire protection. The letter requested that the District propose revised Technical Specifications to incorporate limiting conditions for cperaticn and surveillance requirements for facility =cdifications ncted in the Co==ission's Fire Protection Safety Evaluaticn Report (SER) within 90 days prior to the implementation dates designated therein.
This letter is to inform the Commission that the District is unable to propese Technical Specifications for the halon system to be installei in control roca cabinets, as discussed in Section 3.1.7 of the SER.
Although the =cdifications due to be implemented in June of 1979 are en schedule, Technical Specifications cannot be prcpesed since a preliminary syste= design is not yet available. Syste design will determine the extent and nature of proposed specifications.
It is expected that a syste design will be available by May,1979, at which time proposed specifications will be written and subsequently submitted to the Cc :ission for evaluation.
