STAFF EQUIREMENTS - DISCUSSION AND VOTE ON SECY-79-591 A/B/C - PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO 10 CFR PART 50; PLANS FOR COPING WITH EMERGENCIES AT PRODUCTION AND UTILIZATION FACILITIES, 10:40 A.M., WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1979, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, D.C. OFFICE (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission discussed a revised text of the proposed amendments to 10 CFR Part 50 that had been circulated on December 4,1979, and by a vote of 5-0:
1.
Approved the revised text, as modified by the following:
(a) the substitution of alternative language on page 16a for the paragraph beginning on page 16 and extending to the middle of page 17, subject to insertion of the phrase ",
social and economic as well as safety," after the word
" consequences" in line 2, and the phrase "for a limited time" after the word " operation" in line 8; and (b) revision of paragraph 4, page.37 of the text to read after the word " Office" in line 4:
": Provided that, in cases where the operating license is scheduled to be issued less than 180 days after the effective date of this rule, such implementing procedures shall be submitted as soon as practicable.
Within 60 days after the effective date for compliance under 1 50.54(v) with the revised Appendix E,...".
