RECEIPT AND AVAILABILITY OF THE SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE SURRY POWER STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 (EPID NOS. L-2018-RNW-0023 AND L-2018-RNW-0024)

Dear Mr. Stoddard:

By letter dated October 16, 2018, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML18291A842), Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion Energy Virginia) submitted an application for subsequent license renewal of Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-32 and DPR-37 for the Surry Power Station (SPS), Unit Nos. 1 and 2 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or staff). We are currently performing an acceptance review for docketing in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.101(2) (10 CFR 2.101(2)), and will notify you of the results of our review. Should the NRC staff determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, the NRC staff will issue a schedule for the review, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.102(a).

We have enclosed for your information a copy of the notice relating to your application that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Sayoc as the project manager for the safety review, and Mr. Tam Tran as the project manager for the environmental review of your license renewal application. Please forward copies of all license renewal correspondence to Mr. Sayoc and Mr. Tran. Ms. Karen Cotton continues to remain responsible for the project management of all issues other than license renewal for Surry.
