ACT!ON l.Z ACTtON shall be that part of a specification which prescribes remedial measures required under designate<1 i:Dnditions.

AXIAL FLUX DIFFERENCE l.J A.'CIAL Fl.UX DIFFERENCE shall be the difference in normalized flux signals bet.,,..en the t09 and bottom halves of a two section ~core neutron detector.

CHANNEL CALISRATION

~~((\ ~ A CHANNEL CALISRATION shall be the adjust1111nt, H necessary, of tne A cnannel ~tput suc:h that it responds with the necessary range and ac:c:urac:y to lMO'lllfl values of the par11111t1r whid'I the channel lllOtl1tors. The CHANNEL CALIBRATION shall enc:Qlllpass the tnt1re channel 1nc:lud1ng the sensor and alarm and/or trip func:t1ons, and shall inc:lude the CHANNEL FUNCTIONAL TEST. The CHANNEL CALIBRATION 1111y be perfonned by any series of sequential, overlapping or total channel steps such that the tnt1rt channel is calibrated.

CHANNEL CHECX l.S A CHANNEL CHECX shall be th* qualitative assessintnt of channel behavior during operation by ooservation. This det1na1nat1on shall inc:lude, where possible, c:01119ar1son of th* d'lanne1 indication and/or status w1th other indications and/or status ci.rived frOll independent instrument channels measuring the same parainettr.

  • CHANNEL F\JHCTIONAL T!ST 1.6 A CHANNEL FUNCTIONAL TEST shall be the injection of a simulated signal into the channel as close to the prilftiry sensor as prac:t1c:able to verify OPERAS[L!TY fnc:lud1ng alarm and/or trip functions.

1.0 DEFINITIONS OE:: I NED iERMS 1.1 The DEFINED TC:RMS of this section appear in capitalized type and are appl~cable throughout these Technical Specifications.

ACTION l.2 ACTION shall be that part of a specification which prescribes. remedial measures required under designated conditions.

AXIAL FLUX DIFFERENCE 1.3 AXIAL FLUX DIFFERENCE shall be the difference in normalized flux signals between the top and bottom halves of a two section excore neutron detector.

CHANNEL CALIBRATION l.4't A CHANNEL CALIBRATION shall be the adjustment, as necessary, of the channel output such that it responds with the necessary range and accuracy to (nown values of the parameter which the channel monitors. The CHANNEL CALIBRATION shall encompass the entire channel including the sensor and ala~

and/or trip functions, and shall include the CHANNEL FUNCTIONAL TEST. The CHANNEL CALIBRATION may be performed by any series of sequential, overlapping or otal channel steps such that the entire channel is calibrated.

CHANNEL CHECK 1.5 A CHANNEL CHECK shall be the qualitative assessment of channel behavior during operation by observation. This determination shall include, where possible, comparison of the channel indication and/or status with other

~ndications and/or status derived from in~ependent instrument channels measuring the same parameter.

CHANNEL rUNCTIONAL TEST 1.6 A CHAN~EL FUNCTIONAL TEST shall be the injection of a simulated signal into the channel as close to the primary sensor as practicable to verify OPC::RABILITY including alarm and/or trip_ functions.
