SUMMARY

During the reporting period (January 1 to June 30, 1997), the number of random tests performed was equivalent to the number required to test approximately 31.6 percent of the average eligible population.- The rate of positive from random testing was 0.22 percent.

POSITIVE RESUI TS:

Four chemical tests yielded positive results during this reporting period. Calculated from the positive recorded from January 1990 until June 1997, marijuana is the drug of preference, accounting for 60.66 percent of all the positive results, with cocaine second yielding 21.21 percent of positive results.

MANAGEMENTACTIONS:

Pre-Access Access was denied for two contractor employees that tested positive on pre-access analysis.

Management was notified and the individual's files were annotated of the positive result and management's actions.

Random One contractor employee who tested positive during random testing had their access removed for a minimum of fourteen days. Management was notified, and the individual's file was annotated of the positive result and management's actions.

Follow-up Access was removed for three years for one contractor employee participating in the follow-up program that tested positive during follow-up testing. Management was notified, and the file annotated of the positive result and management's actions. Presently, there are three licensee employees and two contractor employees, for a total of five individuals, currently participating in the follow-up program.

Other/ Adulteration Access was denied for one licensee employee for sample tampering by adulteration of the specimen during random testing. The specimen was confirmed positive for Glutaraldehyde (Urinaid). The individual was terminated for cause. Management was notified and the individual's file was annotated of the sample tampering by adulteration.

ADMINISTRATIVEACTIONS:

There were no administrative actions taken during this reporting period.

During this reporting period, there were no violations of the Fitness for Duty Program that were reportable.

PROGRAM WEAKNESSES:

During this reporting period, no program weaknesses were identified.
