3) Letter G02-92-153, dated June 25, 1992, GC Sorensen (SS) to NRC, same subject Reference 1 requested that th'e battery load profiles of Surveillance Requirement 4.8.2. l.d.2 be relocated, to the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) and the Surveillance Requirement be modified to refer to the FSAR for the specific details of the profiles. Technical Specification page (3/4 8-13) was attached reflecting both relocation of the battery load profile table and additional wording to refer to the FSAR for details.

References 2 and 3 requested changes to Reference 1 to clarify the intent of the final specification. Two phrases were to be deleted that did not contribute to the technical adequacy of the specification. Reference 3 provided a draft of the total change including deletion of both phrases. The draft attached to Reference 3 remains appropriate.

Further discussion with the Staff has indicated that an appropriate place to reference the FSAR would be the Bases and not the text of the Specification.

Accordingly, attached is a proposed insert to the WNP-2 Bases adding a change similar to that recommended by the Staff.

Page 2 REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.8.2.1, BATTERY LOAD PROFILES This addition to the Bases does not impact the intent of the original request nor does it affect the conclusions of Reference 1. The determination that the requested change (including the attached Bases addition) does not represent a significant hazard remains valid as does the conclusion that the change meets the eligibility criteria for categorical exclusion set forth in 10 CFR 51.22(c)(9) and does not require an environmental assessment.
