dated April 10, 1991 Appendix E to Part 50, Section VL.4a requires that each licensee shall develop and submit an Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) implementation program plan to the NRC by October 28, 1991. Section VL.4c states that licensees that have submitted the required information under the voluntary ERDS implementation program will not be required to resubmit this information.

~Q' 'age Two RESPONSE TO THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE DATA SYSTEM (ERDS)

-BOULE, 10CFR50 By Reference 1 the Supply System volunteered to participate in the ERDS program.

In Reference 2 the NRC acknowledged the Supply System's voluntary action and provided a survey designed to provide the hardware, communication, data point and administrative information necessary for the NRC's contractor to design the ERDS system interface and data base for WNP-2.

The required information was transmitted to the NRC via References 3 through 6 and acknowledged by the NRC's contractor via References 7 and 8.

As the NRC is aware, the Supply System has experienced difficulties in completing the performance testing of its system with the NRC Operations Center. It appears at this time that new software and hardware may be required to achieve a reliable system. We are currently investigating using the plant Prime computer to serve as the interface with the NRC system. it If this option is selected and becomes necessary to change any of the responses to the Survey of Reference 2 we will so notify the NRC. It is the Supply Systems plan to have an operable ERDS by the February 13, 1993 date of Section VL.4d to 10CFR50 Appendix E.
