STRATEGIES TEMPORARY INSTRUCTION INSPECTION (NRC INSPECTION

REPORT 05000361/2008007 AND 05000362/2008007)

Dear Mr.Ridenoure:

In a telephone conversation on July 25, 2008, Messrs. Clay Williams, Manager, Compliance,

and Clyde Osterholtz, Team Leader, made arrangements for the Nuclear Regulatory

Commission (NRC) to inspect the site-specific implementation of B.5.b Phase 2 and 3 mitigating

strategies at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2, and 3. The inspection is

planned for the week of August 18, 2008.

In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for this inspection, please furnish the documents

listed in Enclosure 1 to Mr. Osterholtz in electronic format no later than August 12, 2008.

Please have available on site at the beginning of the inspection the arrangements and

documents listed in Enclosure 2. Mr. Williams has been advised of this request and provided

with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector.

This letter contains information collections that are subject to the Paperwork Reduction Act of

1995 (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.). These information collections were approved by the Office of

Management and Budget, approval number 3150-0011.
