SUMMARY

OF APRIL 22, 2010, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC.

On April 22, 2010. at 7:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor, NY, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Entergy Nuclear Northeast (Entergy). The NRC requested this meeting to discuss the NRC's annual assessment of the safety performance of Indian Point Units 2 and 3 (lPEC). for the calendar year 2009. Additionally, prior to the meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the NRC held an informational session where NRC representatives met informally with congressional, state and local stakeholders, and with members of the public.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of IPEC for the period of January 1 through December 31 2009. The NRC presentation inCluded a discussion J

of the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) and the results of the NRC's performance assessment for IPEC. As part of this meeting, Entergy senior managers presented their perspectives regarding performance at IPEG and initiatives in selected areas. Members of the public observed the meeting.

After completion of the meeting between the NRC and Entergy managers. the NRC staff held a question and answer session with stakeholders and members of the public to discuss stakeholder views and respond to questions. The staffs responses focused on the agency's role in ensuring the safety and security of the plants.
