Dear Comm issioners and Staff:

Pursuant to 10 CFR 72.44(d)(3) and 10 CFR 72.4, Pacific Gas and Electric Company hereby submits the 2019 Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report for the Diablo Canyon Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (DC ISFSI).

For calendar year 2019, there were no releases of radionuclides to the environment in liquid or gaseous effluents due to operation of the DC ISFSI. The basis for this statement is documented in the DC ISFSI Updated Final Safety Analysis Report. Specifically, the all-welded construction of the DC ISFSI multi-purpose canisters precludes the release of liquid, gaseous, or solid effluents from the HI-STORM 100 System.

Pursuant to 40 CFR Part 190, direct radiation from sources associated with the Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) operating units and the DC ISFSI are monitored. Sources of direct radiation from DCPP and the DC ISFSI are reported in the DCPP Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report, which is prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 50.36a(a)(2).

PG&E makes no new or revised regulatory commitments (as defined by NEI 99-04) in this letter.

If you have any questions regarding this submittal, please contact Mr. Dave Cortina at (805) 545-3517.
