Projects Section 2 Inspection Summary Inspection during the period of April 1-30, 1980 (Report No. 50-546/80-20; 50-547/80-20)
Areas Inspected:
Inspection by the IE Regional Resident Inspector of the Auxiliary Building, Fuel Handling Building, Unit I and 2 containments and miscellaneous areas to verify that activities in progress complied with the stop work order of August 7,1979. This inspection also included a review of the storage and maintenance activities for safety related items and an overview of the Construction Verification Program (concrete and reinforcing steel visual inspection) in progress. This inspection in-volved a total of 176 inspector-hours on site by one NRC inspector.
Results: No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Functional or Program Areas Inspected
1.
Construction Activities Inspection of construction activities indicated that work in all Category I areas, i.e.,
safety-related work, remains terminated in accordance with NRC confirmatory order dated August 15, 1979, except for material receiving, storage, and maintenance. Two inspections were also conducted during off shift periods.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.
2.
Storage and Preservation of Material and Equipment The Resident Inspector observed the storage conditions and mainten-ance activities in laydown areas, warehouses, and interim storage in the Auxiliary and Fuel Handling Buildings and other storage areas of material and equipment. These inspections were performed to as-sure complaince with the requirements of ANSI N45.2.2 - Packaging, Shipping, Receiving, Storage, and other requirements of the Nuclear Steam System Supplier (Westinghouse) and The Public Service of Indiana's Project Management Manual.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.
3.
The Resident Inspector observed, the activities in progress related to the Construction Verification Program. These activities speci-fically involved the inspection of:

4.
The Resident Inspector met with Congressman L. H. Hamilton, State of Indiana, on April 8, 1980 to discuss inspection results at Marble Hill.
5.
The Resident Inspector met with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Team Leader, Mr. R. E. Tolton, on April 15, 1980

to discuss the findings of the survey conducted on Cherne Contract-ing Corporation (Mechanical Erection Contractor to PSI).
Mr. Tilton stated that the team would recommend "N" stamp authorization for the Cherne Corporation Marble Hill installation activities.
6.
The Resident Inspector participated in the regional inspection effort during the week of April 21, 1980. This inspection consisted of-3-
