e Signed SUMMARY Inspection on January 16-19, 1979 This routine unannounced inspection involved 24 inspector-hours onsite in the areas of concrete work activities, storage and records of reactor vessel internals, and storage and records of material for safety related structures (boric acid tanks).
Results No apparent items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Inde endent Ins ection Effort A walk through inspection of the concrete batch plant and the concrete testing laboratory was performed.
Calibration of measuring equipment was inspected.
General work practices were observed and inspected for conformance with relevant site procedures and licensee commitments.
A concrete pour of a wall for the Unit 1 waste processing building was observed.
Reinforcing bar placement and spacing was observed and inspected.
EBASCO Drawing CP and L CAR 2167 G0561-Standard Details-Concrete Reinforcing Steel Tolerances was reviewed and used for the reinforcing steel spacing inspection.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identifie.
Reactor Vessel Internals Observation of Work and Work Activities-Units 1 and
CP and L QC Procedure CQC-8 Revision 1 (Storage Control) and Construction Procedure AP-XIII-05 Revision 8 (Material Storage)
were reviewed to determine licensee requirements for storage of the reactor vessel internals.
The Units 1 and 2 reactor vessel internals stored in metal houses were inspected for compliance with licensee requirements and PSAR commitments.
Protective coverings and supports were also inspected.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Safet -Related Structures (Structural Steel and Su ort I) - Observation of Work and Work Activities - Units 1 and
Material for the fabrication of Boric Acid Tanks for Units 1 and 2 were inspected in storage for compliance with licensee storage requirements noted in paragraph 6 and licensee PSAR commitments.
EBASCO Procedure CAR-SH-AS-10 Revision 2 - Field Erected Storage Tanks - ANS Nuclear Safety Class 2 and 3 - Seismic Class I was reviewed for relevant storage and receiving inspection requirements.
QC Procedure CQC-6 Revision 62 - Receiving Inspection also was reviewed for relevant receiving inspection requirements.
Receiving inspection records for the boric acid tank plates were reviewed for compliance with licensee procedural requirements and PSAR commitments.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Reactor Vessel Installation - Observation of Work and Work Activities - Unit 1 and
The reactor vessels were inspected in their stored location for compliance with licensee storage requirements noted in paragraph 6.
In addition the reactor vessels were inspected for seals and devices to identify vessel internal atmospheric condition.
Condition of protective coatings and support structures and dunnage were also inspected to verify conformance with license storage procedures and PSAR commitments.
