The inspector also performed plant tours and reviewed licensee actions on previously identified items.

Plant Tours - Units 1 and
The inspector observed work activities in progress, completed work and plant status in several areas of the plant during general inspection of the plant.
The inspector examined work for any obvious defects or noncompliance with regulatory requirements or license conditions.
Particular note was taken of presence of quality control inspectors and quality control evidence such as inspection records, material identification, noncomforming material identification, housekeeping and equipment preservation.
The inspector interviewed craft personnel, supervision and quality
'inspection personnel as such personnel were available in the work areas.
No items of noncompliance were identified.

Examination o'f valve CS 206-A (F001A) and Core Spray Pumps 1P-206 A and C.
The licensee has documented reinspection of the aforementioned components on Nonconformance Report (NCR)

1388.
This NCR was closed May 24, 1979 after the required
inspection and cleaning.
No valve damage was noted; the pump internals were represerved.
The inspector had no further questions on this matter.

Failure to follow prescribed arc strike removal procedure.
By letter to the NRC dated May 23, 1979 the licensee identified corrective actions taken and steps to avoid further items of noncompliance.
During this inspection, the inspector verified completion of corrective actions as documented on General Electric Field Deviation Disposition Request (FDDR) KRl-134 and Bechtel Nonconformance Report (NCR) No.
3393.
In addition, the inspector verified that GE letter EAG-1039 and Bechtel letter Ml-806, regarding arc strikes on GE equip-ment, had been distributed to appropriate personnel.
The inspector also reviewed Field Procedure W-l, Revision 6, describing the method used to document arc strikes.
The inspector also verified that appropriate guality Control personnel had been notified of the revised field procedure requirements.
The inspector had no 'further questions on this matter.

Pressure Boundar and Safet -Related Pi in Weldin The following listed activities were examined and verified that they were being performed in accordance with the ASME Section III and IX Codes, PSAR Appendix D, the Bechtel guality Assurance Manual Section III, Site Specifications M 204, M 207, drawings M-198 and M-199, GE Specifications 24A4628 and Peabody Testing Procedures IPPT-300-39-03, and IPRT-100-39-03.

Weldin Material Control The inspector examined the control of weld filler metal at site rod rooms.
Oocumentation and site practices regarding weld filler metal were reviewed to verify that purchasing, receiving, identification, storage, testing, issue and moi's-ture control, including rebaking, where required, were accom-plished in accordance with the Bechtel guality Assurance Manual Section III, Appendix 2, MFMC-1 and Field Procedure M-1.
The inspector reviewed documentation relative to four heats of filler metal.

The inspector examined work activities for the Jet Pump Instrument Piping from Reactor Pressure Vesse1. Nozzle NSB and the Control Building Emergency Service Vater System.
He observed activities including handling, protection, fit-up and alignment work, bending, and identification.
The inspector reviewed associ-ated gC inspection records, nonconformance reports, and turnover package documentation; verified correct materials
were installed; and verified that work activities were in accordance with applicable procedure and specifications.
The above activities were evaluated against criteria estab-lished in the following documents:

The inspector examined two partially completed piping runs and verified that they were installed in accordance with approved drawings.
Piping runs examined were:

Recirculation Pump 1B Flow Instrumentation Lines to Containment Penetration XSOB.
The inspector verified conformance to FSAR Sections 9.2.5 and 5.4. 1, respectively and drawings HRC-11-2, HRC-11-3, M-186,
M-12-10, N-21-10, SP-DCA-121-2, SP-DCA-121-3, SP-DCA-121-4, SP-DCA-121-5,, M-143, and SP-26-2.
No items of noncompliance were identified.

S ent Fuel Pool Pi in
- Unit 2 During observation of Liquid Penetration Testing on Spent Fuel Pool Filter piping, the inspector noted the appearance of corrosion adjacent to several'ircumferential welds.
The condition was noted on Unit 2 pipe spools but not on similar Unit 1 piping.
Specific pipe spools observed by the inspector to have some corrosion included HCC-201-3, HCC-203-1, and HCC-203-2.
The inspector inquired if the condition had been investigated to determine the cause of the corrosion.
The licensee committed to investigate the noted condition.
This item is considered unresolved pending the licensee's investi-gation (388/79-11-01).

'a 0 Construction Documents The inspector examined five construction documents relative to the installation of the RHR Service Mater Pumps.
He veri-fied that the documents were technically adequate and the latest issue.
He also verified that correct issues were referenced on selected guality Control Inspection reports.
The inspector evaluated the. documents against criteria estab-lished by:
the PSAR Appendix D; FSAR Section 9.2.6; and Bechtel Field Procedure G-4, Revision 11.
