Additionally, the NRC inspector determined from training record reviews that emergency preparedness training for the shift

'

technical advisors (STA) had been terminated.

The STA may be used in

special cases to perform as a communicator.

Mr. N. Carns, Plant Manager, stated that both the communicator and the STA training concern would be reviewed and a response given to the NRC during the week of May 18, 1987.

On May 19, 1987, Mr. N. Carns contacted the NRC inspector and committed to designate one operator as a communicator and to replace the operator position on the fire brigade with a security guard.

Additionally, all STA

~,

personnel will receive additional training as emergency communicators.

Both commitments are to be completed by July 1, 1987
