Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. C. A. Hackney of this office
during the period May 11-15, 1987, of activities authorized by NRC Operating
License NPF-38 for Waterford 3, and to the discussion of our findings with
Mr. R. P. Darkhurst, Vice President, Nuclear and other members of your staff at
the conclusion of the inspection.
Areat, examined during the inspection included notifications and communications,
changes to the emergency preparedness program, shift staffing and augmentation,
and licensee audits and quality assuranco.
The inspection findings are
docunented in the enclosed inspection report.
Within the scopo of the inspection, no violations, deviations, or deficiencies
worn identified.
