SYSTEMATIC ASSESSMENT OF LICENSEE PERFORMANCE (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-348/93-14 AND 50-364/93-14)
The NRC Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) has been completed for your Farley facility.
The facility was evaluated for the period May 31, 1992 to September 25, 1993. The results of the evaluation are documented in the enclosed SALP report. This report will be discussed with you at a public meeting to be held at the Farley Training Center on November 23, 1993, at 10:00 a.m.
The performance of your Farley facility was evaluated in the functional areas of Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Plant Support. The assessment indicated that performance in the areas of operations, engineering and plant support were superior with maintenance exhibiting good performance.
The level of safety performance at Farley was generally higher during this SALP period than it was during the previous period. This improvement is attributed to effective self-assessment and to management attention to previously identified weaknesses. The principal challenge for further improvement is to more effectively identify and correct the causes of recurring problems including personnel errors.
Any comments you have concerning our evaluation of the performance of your Farley facility should be discussed at the public meeting.
