McGuire, Chief, Security Section, SFGDs Branch Date Inspection Summary Areas Inspected: Included review of security plan, physical barriers (protected area), physical barriers (vital area), lighting, access control (identification, authorization, and badging), access control (search), access control (escorting),
access control (vital area) and locks, keys and combinations.
The inspection involved 26 inspector hours on site by one NRC inspector. The inspection was begun during an offshift period; seven inspection hours were accomplished during offshift periods.
Results:
The licensee was found to be in compliance with NRC requirements within the nine areas examined during the inspection except for the following three violations and two unresolved items.
1.
Locks, Keys and Combinations - Failure to follow procedures for lock and key rotation / change-out.
2.
Access Control (Identification, Authorization, and Badging) - Failure to properly document entry / exit times of visitors, 3.
Access Control (Search) - Failure to properly search all personnel and hand-carried items entering the plant.
