Inspection No. 50-320/81-02 This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. W. Madden of this office on February 9-13, 1981 at Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-73 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. W. Madden with Mr. R. Rice and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the Office of Inspection and Enforcement Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective

examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnelv-and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct the items of noncompliance brought to your attention in letters dated November 20, 1979, April 3, 1980 and July 31, 1980.
As a result of discussions with your staff and with our Headquarters Office of Inspection and Enforcement, we have concluded that the item of noncompliance cited as Item I in Attachment A to our letter dated July 31, 1980 (Combined Investigation 50-289/80-03 and 50-320/80-03) did not occur and we have removed the item from your enforcement history. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.
In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentation of findings of your control and accounting procedurcs for safeguarding special nuclear materials and your facility security m suras for physical protection are deemed to be RI:DETI RI:DETI RI ;PI
