with questionable used, Iridium for thicker materia is such that many result Both Cobalt and Iridium sources must be 1 1/2" and under thickness and Cobalt for the Latitude of exposures. and configuration_~f prep exposures are necessar While examining weld buildup Nos. 1 and 2, identification 30005-4-U-2B and 30005-5-U-2B, respectively, ground out areas were noted on the inside and outside surface of weld No. 1 and on the inside suface of weld No. Quality Control had issued a nonconformance (NCR) N against the part which was on cold leg EP-3 for the "B" steam generato While the repair may be handled acceptably, the inspector stated that three weld repairs on two different weld buildups should require an NCR on each buildup to insure completion of the required repairs..

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identifie Main Steam Welds (ETA 40007)

  • Radiographic and Magnetic Particle records were examined for weld No. 1-P-1-V-2 Thisweld joins a fitting to a 30" straight length of pip The wall thickness is a nominal 1. 050" and the material is carbon stee The fitting is a replacement part while the straight portion is original pip This weld was stress relieved and autographic records of temperature, time, and rates of heating and cooling were availabl Radiography was performed to procedure RT-A-0-77-VS and Magnetic Particle test was performed to MT-A-0-77-V Further grinding of the weld surface was to be performed for base line and inservice UT inspectio Thickness readings in the weld area had been performed on the same weld for the "B" and "C" steam generator No items of noncompliance or deviations were identifie Assembly of Steam Generator Supports Fourteen dowel pins of Vascomax steel were removed from one leg of
  • the "A'; steam generato These 2" x 6 1/4" pins acted to fasten leg support assemblies to the steam generator lower support ring castin After removal the pins were inspected and found to be free of cracks but did have a light line of surface pitting at the interface of the leg support and ring castin The pins were determined by engineering to be acceptable for reinstallatio However, three additional pins of the same *material with similar heat treatment were prepared so that up to*three of the original pins could be reserved for examination by anyone who had not seen them during the ourag A field change procedure had been issued in answer to NCR 79-165 which required that holes be cleaned by boning and measurements made of all pins and hole An interference fit will be used, and a detailed procedure for reinstallation has been approved.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identifie (

Exit Interview The inspectors met with site ~taff representatives (denoted in_Persons Contacted paragraph) at the conclusion of the inspection on June _14, 197 The inspectors sununarized the scope and findings of the inspection, which were acknowledged by the license *
