Section, Safeguards Branch Inspection Summary:
Special Inspection on August 28-30, 1979 (Report No. 50-272/79-26)
Areas Inspected:
An announced special inspection by a regional based inspector of an incident concerning an unlocked vital area door reported by the NRC Resident Inspector.
The special inspection involved 20 inspector hours onsite.
The inspection was begun during offshift hours; 3 inspection hours were accomplished during offshift periods.
Results:
The licensee was found to be in noncompliance with NRC requirements within 3 of the 4 areas examined during the inspection.
As described in the fol-lowing five items: (1) Physical Barriers (Vital Area Door 8) (Violation), (2)
Physical Barriers (Vital Area Door 9) (Violation), (3) Physical Barriers (Vital Area-Floor Plate Openings at the 100, 84 and 64 foot elevations) (Violation), (4)
Physical Barriers (Patrols), (Infraction), (5) Access Requirements (Failure to isolate the individual responsible for last access control function) (Infraction).
