Letter GO2-97-059 dated March 25, 1997, DA Swank (SS) to NRC, "WNP-2, Operating License NPF-21, Request for Amendment to the WNP-2 Physical Security Plan as Authorized in Operating License Paragraph 2.E" The Supply System requested an amendment to the WNP-2 Physical Security Plan in the above reference to implement changes described in Generic Letter (GL) 96-02. GL 96-02 promulgated options to licensees to reduce or eliminate certain vital area security requirements that provide limited additional protection against an intemal threat.
The Supply System hereby withdraws the referenced amendment request in light of the NRC final rule published in the Federal Register (62 FR 63640) that revises NRC's regulations associated with an internal threat contained in 10 CFR part 73, " Physical Protection of Plants and Material."
