Readiness for the NRC 40500 Inspection Effectiveness of Licensee Controls in Identifyino. Resolvino. and Preventino Probiems Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO), committed, in a letter dated November 5,1997, to notify the NRC when ready for the performance of the 40500 Inspection, " Effectiveness of Licensee Controls in Identifying, Resolving, and Preventing Problems," at Millstone Unit No. 2. In preparation for the performance of this inspection, NNECO has completed assessments of the elements associated with the inspection scope. Based upon these assessments, we have determined that we will be ready for the commencement of this inspection on January 18,1999. Nuclear Oversight has performed their own independent assessments and concur with this conclusion. An Inspection Response Team has been established to work with your staff under the direction of Mr. Harry Miller.
