In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54 (a) (3), on June 3,1997, Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) transmitted Revision 19 of the Northeast Utilities Quality Assurance Program (NUQAP) Topical Report for your review and approval. Upon subsequent review of the documentation submitted to the NRC, we discovered that a portion of text contained in Section 8.0 of the NUQAP was inadvertently omitted. This letter provides )

the corrected NUQAP, Revision 19, Section 8.0, page 2 of 2 as an attachment.

The omitted section of a sentence from Section 8.0 stated that [ Nuclear} " Oversight performs audits, surveillances, and inspections, as appropriate, of onsite vendor activities in this area". The omission of this ctstement is administrative in nature and not considered an intent issue. Additionally, this Nuclear Oversight function is stated elsewhere in the NUQAP. The Quality Assurance (QA) group reviewed the NUQAP, Revision 19, documentation and there were no additional omissions. We regret any inconvenience this omission may have caused.
