Report2985-BJB-01,Rev0page2of5relays,rackwiring,inputandoutputmodulesandloopconfigurations,performtheirintendedfunctionasrequiredbyboththereplacementvendorandAEPdesignspecificationspriortoacceptancefordeliveryorinstallationoftheequipment.Thesetestsarewrittensuchthatacompletehistoryofeachtestisdocumented,includingalogofanydiscrepanciesfound,resolutionofthesediscrepancies,arecordoftestpersonnel,testequipment,testsetupandconfiguration.Thefinalfactoryassembledrackswhichwillbeinstalledattheplantaresubjectedtothetests.Temporary120vacpowerissuppliedtothepermanentrackpowersupplies.Thepermanentrackpowersuppliesareusedtopowerallinstrumentloops.Fieldinputstotherackanaloginputmodulesandoutputloadsfromtherackanalogoutputmodulesaresimulatedusingtestequipmentwhichmimicactualfieldconditions.Theloopsareconfiguredusingthecontrolledconfigurationdocumentswhichwillbeusedfortheactualinstallation.Allinputsandoutputsaretestedandtheoverallloopconfigurationisverified.Dynamicandcontrolalgorithmresponsetestsareperformedtoensuretheirresponsecharacteristicsmeettheplantspecificrequirements.Inaddition,timeresponsetestswillbeperformedtoensurethereplacementequipmentwillmeettheplantspecifictimeresponserequirements.Allrackworkmanship,materielconditionandwiringisalsoverified.TheFATproceduresaremeticulouslydetailed.Theirprimarypurposeistodetectanypotentialdesign,equipmentorperformanceproblemswhichwouldjeopardizeplantcontrolorprotectionsystemsfromperformingtheirintendedfunction.Allproblemsidentifiedwillberesolvedpriortoacceptanceofthereplacementequipmentandcommencement.oftheinstallationofthereplacementequipmentintheplant.InterationTestinTheIntegrationTestsarepre-installationtestswhichensuretheReactorProtectionGroupinstrumentationproperlyinterfaceswithControlGroupinstrumentationandviceversawithnoadverseinteraction.ThesetestsconnecttheReactorProtectionrackstotheControlGroupracksperthedesignwiringdiagramsandsimulatevariousanticipatedrackinteractionsandperturbations,includingadversepowerfailures,instrumentgroundingsorfailures.TheprimaryemphasisoftheIntegrationTestsistoensurethattheReactorProtectiongroupandtheControlgroupoperatetogetherwithoutadverseinteraction.Expectedresultswillbe Report2985-BJB-01,Rev0page3of5recordedandanyunexpectedresultswillbeinvestigatedandsatisfactorilyresolvedpriortoacceptanceofthereplacementequipmentandcommencementoftheinstallationofthereplacementequipmentintheplant.Thesetestsarewrittensuchthatacompletehistoryofeachtestisdocumented,includingalogofanydiscrepanciesfound,resolutionofthesediscrepancies,arecordoftestpersonnel,testequipment,testsetupandconfiguration.InstallationTestinInstallationTestsareperformedtoensurethereplacementequipmentisproperlyinstalledandwiredintotheirpermanentplantmountinglocations.Mostofthereplacementequipmentwillbemountedinexistingracksinthecontrolroom.Someofthereplacementequipmentwillbepanelmountedonthefrontcontrolpanels.Someofthereplacementequipmentwillbemountedinnewracks.Installationtestsconsistofinitialde-energizedwirecontinuitychecks,cablemeggeringandvisualinspectionstoensureallplantinterfacessuchaspower,grounding,fieldsensorinputs,trip,alarmandcomputeroutputsareproperlyconnectedwiththepermanentplantequipment.Onceinitialchecksarecomplete,theequipmentisenergized,calibratedandfunctionallytestedtoensureallplantinterfaceshavebeenproperlyintegrated.Inspectionoftheequipmentinstallationisdonetoensuretheequipmentismountedincompliancewiththeseismicallyqualifiedmountingdesign.AllinstallationtestsmustbesatisfactorilycompletedandanyproblemsresolvedbeforethesystemscanbedeclaredoperableorreleasedforSurveillanceTesting.ReplacementequipmentincriticalplantsystemswhoseoperabilityiscoveredbyTechnicalSpecificationswillnotbereleasedordeclaredoperableuntiltheirapplicableSurveillanceandTimeResponseTestsarecomplete.SurveillanceTestinOncetheequipmentisinstalledandInstallationTestinghasbeencompletedwithallproblemsresolved,SurveillanceTestswillbeperformedtoensureallapplicableTechnicalSpecificationsystemoperabilityrequirementsaremet.TheseSurveillanceTestsmustbesatisfactorilycompletedbeforethesystemcanbedeclaredoperable.TimeResonseTestinSomeofthereplacementequipmentisintegraltocriticalplant
