RECEIPT OF C-E's APPLICATION FOR AN FDA-1 l

On October 27, 1978, we received Mr. A. E. Scherer's letter dated October 20, 1978 and your sworn statement relevant' to C-E's application for a Final Design Approval - Alternate 1 (FDA-1) for the CE System 80 i NSSS. In addition to the above documents, the tendered application i included:

l 1. Fifteen " Tendering' Draft" copies of the CESSAR FSAR describing the System 80 design for our acceptance review;

} 2. Fifteen copies of " Appendix A" to the CESSAR FSAR addressing the

' Commission's Category I, II and III matters. (Note: You indicate that the Category IV matters will be submitted in December 1978);

3. A check for $50,000.00 to cover the initial application fee pursuant i I to Section- 170.21' of 10 CFR Part 170.

! . After we have started our acceptance rev'iew, we will afford you the "

l opportunity to discuss the CESSAR FSAR with the relevant reviewers.

l Upon completion of our accep.tance review, we will notHy you by letter

of our conclusion, and at your request.we will arrange i meeting to discuss these conclusions.
