Loan of U.S. NRC Pressure Transducers

1. U.S. NRC/LLNL Liaison to GKSS Containment Research.
2. Letter, E. McCauley to E. Aust, May ll, 1981.
3. Meeting, E. Aust and E. McCauley, June 10, 1981.
4. Meeting, T. M. Lee and E. McCauley, June 12, 1981.

Dear Mr. Aust:

Enclosed are 9 SensoMetric flush diaphragm 7 bar pressure transducers provided -

as a loan by the U.S. NRC to the GKSS-PSS program. With each unit a complete calibration history is also supplied. With the single unit provided earlier (Ref. 2), this completes our agreement to supply 10 units for your PSS program use (Refs. 3 and 4).

l As was agreed (Ref. 3), these 9 transducers are supplied without the tubing adapter. Our drawing of this adapter is, however, enclosed for your use as required.

It is our understanding that this transducer loan will allow for new absolute pressure measurements in the vent pipe exits (to complement the existing piezoelectric units - PG16/22/32) and for new absolute pressure measurements at the vent pipe inlets.

Thank you for your cooperation. We wish you well in your work and look forward to your future test results.

Sincerely, M

F Edward W. McCauley, P.E., Ph.D.

The works on the TV-cassettes and the high speed films, respectively time correlation tables are under the way. We are in discussion with video-system manufacturers about the synchronisation problems and we will inform you if we have answers. We could replay the retourned cassettes without information losses.

The adaption work for the NRC-transducers will be managed by our workshops.
