SUBJECT:

ALLEGED INTIMIDATION - CPSES -

4 A m to the resident inspector's office on October 16, 1984, and spok' e Tith Jim Cumins concerning two allegations. One involved alleged overtones of intimidation and the other related to lack of comunications in QA programs at CPSES. He came to Mr. Cumins office again on October 19, 1984, requesting to talk to_an NRC _...

October 19, 1984, to ndicate tha was being provided with OI's phone i number.

A formal memorandum was drafted to request an 01 investigative inquiry.

Subsequently, urned to Mr. Cumin's office on October 24, 1984. I talk on the telephone. ' lie stated that Bill Clements,  :

Vice President, TU C0 had ta ked to him. He stated that they had a long conversation and that all of his concerns were being resolved. He felt that TUGC0 was being very responsive and that there was no need at this time for any action to be taken by the NRC. On the basis of my discussion with W I am proposing to go no further with any request to 01 for 'i assistance.

Mstated that he was appreciative of Jim Cumins efforts and

' indicated he would not hesitate to come back and talk with the NRC.

With regard to confidentiality, stated to Jim Cumins during his October 19, 1984 visit, that TUGC0 was aware he was talking to the NRC and that confidentiality was no longer a issue. -
