DAILY HIGHLIGHT Commonwealth Edison Company In a press conference on September 27, 1993, Chairman James O'Connor announced that Commonwealth Edison Company (Ceco) has settled six rate matters and appeals that are before the Illinois courts and the Commerce Commission by agreeing to refund $1,340,000,000 to its customers over the next twelve months. One billion dollars of the settlement relates to Ceco's efforts to get fair rate treatment for Byron, Unit 2, and the two Braidwood Units. Ceco agreed to the settlement to remove the uncertainty of its future and the distraction the cases would have caused over the next couple of years.
Ceco's customers will see their rates decrease about 6% from their present i
levels.
In addition, for the next twelve months, its customers will see l
roughly an additional 20% reduction on top of these lower rates because of the l
refunds they will be receiving.

DAILY HIGHLIGHT Commonwealth Edison Company In a press conference on September 27, 1993, Chairman James O'Connor announced that Commonwealth Edison Company (Ceco) has settled six rate matters and appeals that are before the Illinois courts and the Commerce Comission by agreeing to refund $1,340,000,000 to its customers over the next twelve months. One billion dollars of the settlement relates to Ceco's efforts to get fair rate treatment for Byron, Unit 2, and the two Braidwood Units. Ceco agreed to the settlement to remove the uncertainty of its future and the distraction the cases would have caused over the next couple of years.
Ceco's customers will see their rates decrease about 6% from their present levels.
In addition, for the next twelve months, its customers will see roughly in additional 20% reduction on top of these lower rates because of the refunds they will be receiving.
