- This meeting, as one of periodic meetings about the technical management of the Marviken meeting, was held to review the preparation of the con-tainment for testing to start on 14 February 1976. This review included the plant preparation, the instrumentation, and the test conditions for the first four tests out of test matrix of 8 tests. A detailed presenta-tion was given of the preparation phase of the Marviken II project during which the plant was prepared for the test recuirenents of the Marviken II
- agreenent. -Based on the results presented it was agreed that the preparations phase of the project is ccxnplete as of 15 February 1976 and that the experiment phase starts as of that date.

Instrumentation I
i The instrumentation stipulated in the agreement and requested by the TAC l
' at subsequent meetings has been installed. Calibration work was in progress at the time of the meeting. An independent evaluation of the instrumentation had been made by Mr. Brunswick of the KhU. His generally favorable ccmacnts l
appear in MX2-54 which lists a number of reccmmrAations. It was further agreed that about a third of the instrunentation in each category should be recalibrated after each test such that recalibrations are made every three tests. An independent measurenent of break flow velocity with the radio-
- l. . active tracer method is made by GfK. This measurenent is contributed free of charge to the project and was not included in the original instrumentation requirement.

.2- acwsms Imak Testing:
A leak test has been performed on the containment to determine its present leak tightness and evaluate possible deterioration due to the earlier test series. For a test pressure of 2.7 bar the leakage of the containment shell equalled the equivalent of a 5.3 nu hole. A test for pressure difference between drywell and wetwell resulted in an equivalent hole size of 12.5. This leakage does not influence in any way the simulated IOCA transient.
Header Configuration:
It has been proposed to change the volume of the header that conngets the drywell with the wetvell. This would involve bringing about 30 m of wood into the header and anchoring it in place to reduce header volum. The intent was that a change in the header volume will change the frequency of oscillation that appeared in header pressure during earlier tests. It was felt at this time that the frequency is quite insensitive to header volume not warranting the effort expended on volume reduction. A paper was distributed by the German representative with predictions for frequency of oscillation. No decision was reached, but a group of three people was appointed to study the problan further and make a recmmendation to the TAC before April 1976.

Asssurances were given by the project that the presently planned test scope of 8 tests i.s within the budget. The test conditions for the first 4 tests as shown in MX2-48 were discussed and found acceptable.
The Scandinavian representatives were of the opinion that only 2 tests should be finali. zed, and that after empletion of the second test an interim meeting should be held by the end of March to determine whether changes in the third and fourth test should be made. This was considered unnecessary by most of the manbers. Nevertheless it was decided to hold an interim meeting at the end of March, with the next TAC meeting scheduled for 20 May 1976 after four tests have been empleted. As preparation for such a meeting it was agreed that the project supply all members with brief smnaries of test information within a week after each test. In addition, a sunmary data package will be sent to all manbers by regular mail within several weeks after each test.

The board was informed that for this phase 28 people are working on the project with 2 more scheduled to join shortly. The project managenent considers this personnel level adecuate. -
%e financial status of the prog.mu was presented. As of 15 February 1976, which is the end of the preparation phase, 8,682. KS Kr. have been expended which is slightly below the budgeted level. This budget is based on 14,500 KS Kr which is the amount available to the project after the reduction in the level of participation by France. Pr. Tanguy presented revised figures of the intended level of French participation.
