JUNE MONTHLY REPORT Accomplishments  !

o Successfully completed the Licensed Operator Annual Requalification. .

o Modifications Department turned over 21 Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to the System Review and Test Group (SRTG).

o Completed management review and started data entry for I the long range schedule.

o Work plans and schedules were developed for the Expanded Augmented Systems Review and Test Program (EASRTP) . The programs were received favorably by Jack Martin in an informal review.

o Established Management Systems Control Center.

o Work-off of the Work Request Backlog ran ahead of schedule by 12%.

o The AGM, Nuclear Power Production conducted a series of 4 communications meetings with his employees; and all Departments were assisted by the Organizational

Effectiveness staff in developing and documenting organizational charters, accountabilities, organization charts and goal statements. This is part of the continuing effort to clarify roles and accountabilities.

Rancho Seco-to-Headquarters data communications capability; placed in service the Work Control System, Labor Distribution System, and a micro-computer version of the Coordinated Commitment Tracking System; and completed design and development of the corporate base budgeting system.

o Contracted with Babcock & Wilcox for their review of the SRTG's test program.

o Lost time accidents during June were held to zero.

Maior Work in Procress o Modifications and maintenance activities continue toward a September 1987 Restart.

o Surveillance Testing Program moved under AGM, Nuclear Power Production. Herb Heckert (SMUD) appointed Program Supervisor.

Action Plan completion scheduled for July 17, 1987.

o All departments began preparation of the 1988 Budget.

Scheduled date for submittal to Headquarters is August 7, 1987.

,e' i BOARD MEMBER July 28, 1987 i o Began development of a single process to efficiently control I and track individual Restart work scope items. This will l include items currently tracked by the Quality Tracking System (OTS) and several other overlapping tracking systems.

o CRTS/ Cable Separation - Preliminary agreement reached with the NRC on work scope for both programs. Our final position is to be submitted in July.

o Technical Specifications - Amendments 138 (Organizational i Changes) and 152 (EFIC/ Auxiliary Feedwater) are being prepared i for July submittal. Twenty-one (21) restart items were identified from the 1987 NRC Region V Evaluation Report.

Amendments covering these items will be submitted in September.

Maior Issues o Outside issues have diverted the attention of the Department Managers above and away from the issues involved in completing the outage work by the existing schedule. This focus will be restored to assure that schedule slippage and productivity losses are minimized while the final scope of the SRTP is determined.

o ECN releases to Operations are behind the (September) scheduled goal. 120 ECNs have been released versus 203 scheduled.

o Final determination of the total scope of the System Review and Test Program (SRTP).

o The Headquarters main computer capacity issue requires long-term resolution. An interim solution will be presented to the Board on August 6, 1987.
