MONTHLY NARRATIVE REPORT OF OPERATING AND MAJOR MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE-This report describes the operating and major maintenance experience for the month of October, 1986. This report was prepared by the Plant Staff and is submitted in accordance with Section IX:I.l.c. of the Technical Specifications.

During the report period, the reactor has been in the cold shutdown mode with the core unloaded and the reactor vessel drained. During the month the following activities were ongoing:

1. Completed installation of boral cans on spent fuel elements.
2. Continued decontamination of Plant areas.
3. ' Commenced modification to the spent fuel pool recirculation and demineralization system.
