SUW. ART OF SEPTEMBER 17, 1974 MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF WASHINCTON STATE CEOLOGIST'S OFFICE on September 17, 1974, members of the Regulatory staff met with representatives of the Washington State Department of Natural Resources Earth Sciences Division (WSDlIR) at the Washington State Office Building complex in Olympics, Washington. The meeting was held in order to discuss earthquakes and faulting in the lower Puget Sound region of the state of Washington.

Techniques for dating faults located in Pleistocene sediasets were discussed.

The WSDNR representatives described the scope and rescults of the geophysical work that the state geologist's tech = frat staff has performed in the Puget lowlands. The Regulatory staff was informed that the state geologist's office has received Section 2.5 of the PSAR and the general content of this material was discussed. The Regulatory staff explaimed the safety review schedule for the VPPSS Huclear Projects No. 3 and No. 5 application.

During a discussion about slope stability in the region near Satsop, the WSDNR representatives suggested that the Regulatory staff contact the geologists with the Washington State Highway Department office at Tumwater and ths geologist on the staff of a local coal mining operation at Centralia for additional information about this matter.
