(1)the1872PacificNorthwestearthquake,and (2) the faulting uncovered at the WNP-3 excavation. We have made a

site visit to inspect the faulting offthe excavation in Unit No. 3 and reported in a trip report dated November 3,1977.
In addition j
on November 4, 1977, the ACRS concluded a meeting addressing the j
1872 Pacific Northwest earthquake as a generic issue.

Disscussion

The applicant reviewed the key construction milestone dates and the geology / seismology chronology. Enclosure 2 contains the vu-graphs presented. The applicant stated that in order for the Unit No. 3 e
- p' commercial operation date of September 1983 be met, a construction pemit is required by December 1,1977. The applicant urged the staff l to proceed with the open items to the Board, since.axhaustive~
