The staff at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission h>.s completed its review and ,

evaluation of the towa State Research Reactor Operator Requalification Program submitted l by Mr. Scott Wendt in a, letter dated September 30,1998. The program was reviewed against the criteria in 10 CFR Part 55.

Based on its raview, the staff concludes that lowa State's Research Reector Operator

. Requalification Program meets the requirements of the regulation and is, therefore, acceptable. We request that you begin to implement your approved program immediately.
