UNIVERSITY TRAINING REACTOR

Dear Dr. Bullen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by J. L. Belanger of this office on

January 10-11, 1994. The inspection included a review of activities

authorized for your Iowa State University Training Reactor-facility. At the

conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those members

of your staff identified in the enclosed report.

Areas examined during this inspection are identified in the report. Within

these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures

and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations of

i

activities in progress.

No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this

inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection concern a subject matter which is exempt

from disclosure according to Section 2.790 of the NRC'S " Rules of Practice,"

Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Consequently, our report of

this inspection will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
