This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. R. A. Paul of
this office on February 9-10, 1988, of activities at Iowa State University
Reactor authorized by NRC Operating License No. R-59 and to the_ discussion
of our findings with you, Dr. R. A. Hendrickson, and other members of your
-staff at the conclusion of the inspection. This also refers to a discussion
with Dr. R. E. Williams of yo'ur staff on February 24, 1988, concerning ARM
calibration information forwarded to us in your letter dated February 15,
1988.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
