On March 2, 1982, Gulf States Utilities (GS0) informed Region IV of a deficiency potentially reportable under 10CFR50.55(c). The gap between the free end of a W24 X162 beam at azimuth 184, elevation 141'-0" and the drywell wall was found to be 1/4" where the minimum specified gap was 1 1/2". The deficiency has been corrected in I.

accordance with Nonconformance and Disposition Report (NSD) 2193 dated February 25, 1982. '

GSU's investigation to determine the significance of this deficiency with respect to reportability is not complete. GSU vill provide a Status Report on this investigation by May 14, 1982.
