Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

River Send Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50 h58 Recently, Gulf States Utilities notified you of a potential 10CFR 50.55(e) event with regard to a concrete " cold-Joint" in a segment of the foundation of the emergency diesel generator building.

At this time, the " cold-joint" problem does not appear to represent a significant deficiency reportable under 10CFR 50.55(e). It is anticipated that our analysis of this will be completed shortly and we will inform you of the results within 30 days.

Sincerely,
