3.3.1 Petroleu

based solvents are approved for ex:ernal-cleaning of snubbers and : heir associated hardware.

3.3.2 For cleaning of internal snubber parts, clean-ing solvents are restiicted to alcohol blown dry with clean ec= pressed air or nitrogen.

CAUTION: Do not allow solvent to enter internals as it will degrease the internal ball train.

3.4 HOUSEiEEPE!G 3.4.1 ANSI Zone V housekeeping recuire=ents oily rags and wipes =ust be placed in fla=e proof covered containers i==ediately af:er use in all areas.

Solvents or oil used at work sites must be in approved safety containers.

3.4.2 Co=bustable =aterials such as parr boxes, wipes, etc. , taken into the reactor building =ust be l con:ained in covered flame proof con:ainers prior to their use and 4-adia:ely placed in covered flh=e proof containers after use.

b) Inspec: clevis eyes and pin for defects.

c) Pull back the telecopying shaft cover and inspect the snubber piston shaf: (full out position) for the following:

1) Scratch = ark of severe nature.
2) Pitted areas that vill prevent perfor-ance.
3) Dir collection.
4) Build-up of grease.

d) Verify stroke ability.

1) Manually stroke to full range of con-pression (in) and tension (out) .

NOTE: Perfom slowly to prevent lock-up.

2) Verify lock-up in both :he congression
and tension stroke directics by applica-tien of a sharp sustained load manually.

Record results on data sheet.

4.3 REINSTALI.ATICN 4.3.1 Clean linkage parts.

4.3.2 Deter =ine tha: the piston shaf: cover is functional.

43.3. Reccanect- the snubber to it's original comec-tion point. Document on da:a sheet.

6.2 The snubber will lockup when sharp sustained force is applied in each direction.
