SUMMARY

OF APRIL 24,2006, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH AMERGEN On April 24, 2006, at 7:OO p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Oyster Creek Emergency Operations Facility in Toms River, NJ, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC. The NRC requested the meeting with AmerGen management to discuss NRCs assessment of the safety performance of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station for calendar year 2005.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Oyster Creek for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2005. The NRC presentation included background on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), summary of national performance assessment results, an overview of Oyster Creeks performance during calendar year 2005, and a discussion of general NRC issues. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, AmerGen presented an overview of their performance.

The public observed this meeting and was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding AmerGens performance at Oyster Creek and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and AmerGen, the NRC offered to answer questions from the public.

There was a statement by Councilman David Most of Lacey Township, NJ, in support of Oyster Creeks current operations and license renewal efforts. There also were numerous questions and statements made by members of the public concerning various topics including plant security, emergency planning, Tritium monitoring, standardized nuclear plant design, license renewal, and spent fuel storage issues.
