ONS-2015-011 March 6, 2015 Page 2 Ladies and Gentlemen, Duke Energy submitted the Flood Hazard Reevaluation Report (FHRR) for Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS) on March 12, 2013 (Reference 2) pursuant to the NRC's 10 CFR 50.54(f) request dated March 12, 2012 (Reference 1).

By E-mail dated September 15, 2014 (Reference 4), the NRC transmitted a Request for Additional Information (RAI) regarding Oconee's flood analysis of a postulated upstream dam failure. That RAI requested the dam failure be re-analyzed by applying alternate breach methodologies.

Because the new analysis would impact the information in the original FHRR, and affect several responses to a previous RAI (Reference 3), ONS submitted an RAI response on October 15, 2014 (Reference 5) that provided an action plan to revise the FHRR and to address any previous RAI responses affected by that revision. This letter submits the deliverables of that action plan.

Enclosure 1 to this letter is the revised "FloodHazardReevaluation Report"for Oconee Nuclear Station. It incorporates the results of a revised flood analysis which utilizes alternate breach methodologies, as requested by the September 15, 2014 RAI. It also incorporates a recently completed seismic analysis specific to the Jocassee Dam, which satisfies the request framed by RAIl of the March 20, 2014 RAI.

When preparing Duke Energy's October 15, 2014 response, it was recognized that the FHRR revision would impact the previous response to RAIsl 1 through 15 of the March 20, 2014 RAI.

The updated answers to RAIs-1 1 and 12, are now contained in the appropriate sections of the enclosed report. RAI-13 requested electronic input and output files for the dam breach computer model applicable to the FHRR. This letter transmits the new model files implemented in the revised FHRR as attachments (the files will be on electronic media). The new responses to RAIs14 and 15 are provided in Section 5 of the revised FHRR.

Enclosure 1 contains Security Sensitive information and is requested to be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d).

This letter does not create nor revise any Regulatory Commitments.

Should you have any questions concerning this letter, or require additional information, please contact Bryan McCabe at (919) 812-8324.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed on March 6, 2015.

Sincerely, Scott L. Batson Vice President Oconee Nuclear Station Enclosure I contains Security Sensitive Information; withhold from public per 10 CFR 2.390(d)(1)
