An ENS notification was made on July 15 at 1521 hours0.0176 days <br />0.423 hours <br />0.00251 weeks <br />5.787405e-4 months <br /> EDT in accordance with 10CFR50.72(b)(2)(i).

This interim LER is therefore submitted under 10CFR50.73(a)(2)(ii)(B) for an unanalyzed condition The investigation and analysis of the significance of the event is continuing.

Based on the results of the investigation and analysis, a methodmay be developed to protect the CCW pump area from the effects of the postulated crack.It is anticipated that an update to this LER will be submitted by October 30, 1998.NRC FORM 366 (4-95)
